Many of the decisions affecting the success of a course take place well before the first day of class. Careful planning at the course design stage not only makes teaching easier and more enjoyable, it also facilitates student learning. Once your course is planned, teaching involves implementing your course design on a day-to-day level.

很多影响到一门课程成功与否的决策都发生在第一天上课之前。课程设计阶段的详细计划不仅使教学更加容易和有趣，也可心学生的学习。课程计划一旦确定，教学只不过是一天一天地实施你的课程设计。

Design Your Course课程设计

To design an effective course, you need to:为设计一门有效的课程，应该做到以下几点：

Consider timing and logistics考虑时间安排和相关配套
Recognize who your students are识别你所教的学生是怎么样的
Identify the situational constraints确定情境性限制
Articulate your learning objectives明确表达学习目标
Identify potential assessments确定可能的评价方式
Identify appropriate instructional strategies确定合适的教学策略
Plan your course content and schedule计划好课程内容和进度
Write the syllabus写好教学大纲
